Discovering the Parc Asterix
A tourist complex located in Plailly, in the Oise region, located around 40km from Paris, the Park Asterix opened its doors in April 1989, comprising of a theme park and a hotel. It was funded by the theme parks division of the “Compagnie des Alpes”, which is a European leisure parks operator.
This magnificent theme park is entirely dedicated to the world of Asterix, a comic book character created by artists Uderzo and Goscinny. Each visitor will be happy to immerse themselves in each world in memory of this mustached character. Certain guests will prefer the area dedicated to Ancient Greece while others choose the new zone, opened in April 2012, Egypt, and its incredible inverse attraction, Oziris.
Considered one of the big French amusement park projects of the 80s, Park Asterix’s increase in visitor numbers has not slowed, currently attracting around 1.7 million visitors each year, 2nd in France, still far behind the Disneyland complex.
This success is partially down to the parks proximity to Paris, but also due to numerous good value offers on admission tickets, as well as packages consisting of admission tickets and accommodation (offered with the Three Owls hotel located on the park site) and the launch of season tickets at a great price.
Directly accessible by the RER B3 line; by bus from Paris, or by car along the A1 motorway, the Park Asterix offers more than 30 attractions, with 7 rollercoasters, (2 for children) and 4 water rides as well as numerous shows at all hours of the day, which will be enjoyed by both children and parents alike.
