World’s largest railway museum
If you ever find yourself wondering about Mulhouse, don’t forget to drop by the world largest railway museum regardless of your age. 15000msq fully dedicated to the impressive history of the railway industry, from the invention of the train until the late 1960s.
The golden railway century, which was from 1844 to 1960, is being recall on a 6000m² set which can be compared to the great cinematographic sets. It retraces the century of innovation of the steam industry and also every renowned moments in an outstanding show. Magnificent trains and locomotives are brought to life by the help of special effect. It reviews the 19th and 20th centuries, from the first paid holidays until the war, regrouping all the tales from the famous travellers and railway employees. The journey proves to be epic.

Well the adventure doesn’t stop here. Each hour, to the delight of all, a steam locomotive is launched. And the best part of it is that you can also learn how to operate the machine thanks to the pit hole built under the steam locomotive.
A free booklet is handed freely to kids aged 7 to 12, which hides clues will make them walk through the museum whilst having fun. As for the youngest ones, a new colour space is dedicated to them called the little station, where 4 to 11 years old kids can continue their visit and have fun with games based on the train theme.
