‘Le Puy du Fou’ is located in the Vendée area, in the town of Epesses , only an hour’s drive from Nantes and Angers. Best known for its nocturne show designed in 1978, yet it still amazes its visitors through ever more awe-inspiring spectacles and breathing taking attractions which charms about 1.5 million tourists yearly thus being one of the major theme parks in the area.
Cinéscénie: discover the history of the Vendée
Some History buffs had the idea, thirty years ago, of creating an amazing show led by volunteers on the ruins of the historical castle called the ‘Cinéscénie’.
Nowadays, Cinéscénie considered being among the largest night shows, if not the only, which guide you from the Middle age Vendée, up to the Second World War on a 23 hectares stage. The show itself brings together over 1,000 participants along with the fancy costumes and has hosted over a million of spectators. If you are planning your summer holiday in the areas, the show is one of the things that you don’t want to miss.

The Grand Park,’ has been enriched since, with new attractions, daytime and evening performances taking you from one century to another. You can attend a knights duel live from the middle age, browse and discover the history of France through the ages, laugh with the Gallo-Roman circus games or just relax and watch the other shows which combine fancy historical costumes and music of respective periods.
There are a number of restaurants established in the park and you’ll find yourself transported to a foodie’s inn, to a splendid Belle Époque Bistro or a full fledge Roman banquet.
The Park also offers historical re-enactments and plays for some quality family time. Being the home for nearly 1,400 animals, visitors can watch and interact with enormous bird of prey, approach forest of farm animals or watch wolves and tigers.
Being a huge theme park,’ Le Puys du Fou’ is easily accessible from the Northern Atlantic Coast and it is only an hour’s drive, from Les Sables d’Olonne, by car.
