The heaven for kids

Here's an idea which should enthuse children, a museum dedicated totally to toys. Situated at ‘Moirans-en-Montagne’ in the Jura Voges, the toy museum can be a fun place to visit and discover the history of toys to the wonder of the little ones.

Have you already had the opportunity to visit the House Toy Moirans -en -Montagne (southern Jura), it is time for round two. After twenty- two months of hard work, the toy museum has been expanded, renovated and just reopened its doors to the public. Amongst the collection of 20,000 objects which makes the Toy Museum, 3000 are exposed since 1 of July 2012.

The toys evolution.

A permanent exhibition which is divided into six distinct areas, invites us to discover the history of the toys. It also includes our traditional toys, tops, yo-yos, dolls, but also rarer artefacts such as ancient bones glass or antique Louis XVI yoyo toys. We find games used indoors and outdoors, board games, construction, or other materials designed for playgrounds. The Toy Museum has integrated interactive touch screens and tables to guide the visitors throughout their visit.

Trip down memory lane.

Parents, trust me, you will fall back into childhood while rediscovering “La Guerre de Buttons”,”Saturnin et company”… And best part is that, your guide is “Nours!” a teddy bear that accompany you and your family while playing mini treasure hunts where Nours shows then signs to follow and riddles to solve. Workshop visits are also held throughout the year for the little ones example the workshop dinosaur discover tour or the Christmas around the world.

A family trip, where children can follow the tour at their own pace while parents reminisce their childhood.
